Father of slain student petitions court for death penalty

It’s been nearly a year since Xie Diao, a postgraduate student of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was stabbed seven tim

es to death by his high school classmate Zhou Kaixuan at a restaurant outside the school.

Xie Zhonghua, father of Xie Diao, has been immersed in grief in the past year: He often

dreamed of his son, but then would suddenly awaken and start sobbing uncontrollably.

The case will finally be heard in Beijing First Intermediate People’s Court on May 24. To get justice for his son, Xie Zhon

ghua took to the streets and publicized the case, gathering tens of thousands of signatures that he has su

bmitted to the court. He hopes that, through his petition, the court would sentence Zhou to death.

Uber was the biggest of a group of Silicon Valley startu

Workplace messaging company Slack Technologies Inc plans to hold an investor presentation on Monday in adv

“If a venture capital investor wants to burn cash they can do that as long as they want, bu

China must promote the healthy development of the capital m

y of China Central Committee, the Party’s core leadership, said a statement released after a meeting on Friday.

Dong said the revised law is likely to be adopted by the end of the first half of the ye

“Previously, controversies over the registration-based IPO system reform ha

“As foreign investors are set to play a bigger role in China’s capital

Financial policies are required to further support small and private companies, and fun

The central bank had skipped open market operations for 15 conse

To cut or not to cut the RRR, a strong tool for liquidity adjustm

Divergent opinions are spreading among a broader group of market observer

It’s more than just dance: both consider the ball a

While recommending three must-see Austrian cities for first-time visitors, ambass

Brice Péan, who studied at ski resort Innsbruck, showed his know

Consider this video a warm-up for tonight’s ball. If you can’t ma

Macron questioned May’s ability to persuade parliament to her treaty, EU officials sa
